What is a sewing machine good for a beginner?
Looking to buy my first sewing machine. I take courses in April and although it is not necessary that you have your own sewing machine, I would get to take classes and learn how to serve. I do not want anything that is really cheap or very expensive. I look for something that does the basics, but I can grow with what I learned more. Suggestions? Thank you!
Yes Go to a store that sells and repairs sewing machines and see what they have in their price range. You'll be able to test different machines, and can advise you. If this is your first machine, it is best to go with a model basic right and zig zag. Learning to use so it will take some time, and there is really very little, except, possibly, embroidery and sewing with a knit that can be made with 2 points. You may want to make sure you get a machine that comes with different feet, or additional legs are inexpensive, and check the capabilities of the buttonhole machine. Once you know what kind of sewing is really going to do, you can operate this machine startup and get one with more bells and whistles, if you want. Do not let the age of the machine disturbing you. I have a couple of 50 years beautifully old sewing machines. A new machine will not do it cheap, and is more susceptible to fractures.
