Cross Stitch – What does this mean?
I just bought my first model independent cross stitch and all supplies the project. I use the kits and Aida fabric at this location. This project requires 32ct linen and said, "… Using two strands of thread on two son flax " I know that the "two lines" refers to the use of two of the 6 strands of silk … pretty standard. However, having never used clothing, which means "two son" mean? Does this mean that a "square" to a single point of the Cross, actually consists of 9 holes in the fabric? Also, How should I stop rolling around the outside of the project, when I cut the fabric?
Aida is a model of "block" tissue, which means that if you expect, in fact, weaving thread groups. Bed linen (or stamens) is composed of fibers of particular tissues. Instead of one point every holes as it does in Aida sews all other holes when you wear clothes or cheesecloth. Image of a tic-tac-toe, like #. Personally, I prefer linen / Aida Evenweave because the fund is to look so much nicer. In addition, as they gain experience and begin to explore other types of points (carnations, Rhodes, etc.) are much easier to flax. Just old points (which seem to "nuts and drive AIDA) will much easier on clothes, because they have to drill an additional hole to do so. BTW, 32 ct linen over 2 get the same Aida 16 ct. I leave a 3 "to border fabric on all sides. HTH
