The first time I heard the term "Rag Quilting, a" thought it had something to do with the use of large paintings and a long way to weave together to make the quilt.

Boy, was I wrong!

Turns quilting RAG got its name from serrated edges on the quilt. There is no doubt in my mind that this quilt design was created by a Quilter as a variation of quilt as you go type of model, whether intentional or accidental is simply something that you know Quilter.

Width eyelashes are common patchwork cloth, usually at least 1.a "So if you want each block 8A being a" place when you're finished, you must cut a 10 "square tissue and 7A ¾ "batting or flannel.

To make a rag quilt, take 2 seater fabric (can be triangular or other, but Places are the most common), and a piece of batting for each block of your quilt. You can use a piece of flannel instead. The stick or flannel should cut approximately 1Â ¼ "smaller than the square of fabric.

Place a square of fabric right side on the table. Place the piece of stick or flannel in the center of the canvas. And then place the other piece of fabric right at the top of the batting. You now have a stack of 3 layers, and right side of fabric to the outside.

Stitch in all layers of the set up. Usually, these squares sewn by machine, using a simple straight stitch, to file an X on the spot. To do this, you start in one corner and point to the opposite corner. Take your place outside of the machine, and repeat process in the other corner. You could do some fancy quilting in each block, if you wish.

More layers and seams for as many boxes as you want one, according to the size you like your quilt to be.

Once you have all the squares / blocks sewn it is time to start sewing together Make your quilt.

The process is similar if blocks sewing to cover up with just a touch or two. Take two blocks and place them wrong directions. Union by the 1A "tab. Sew the seam along the entire edge of the fabric, sewing it.

Sew the blocks in each row together. Now you have many rows of blocks, with all the tabs are facing a side (usually the front).

Once done, open tabs, and sew the rows together, while placing the wrong side of fabric, so your lashes will face the side (top right) of the quilt.

After all blocks are sewn together, clip the seam allowances, which is what makes the ragged "A" peak, or marginal. Take a very sharp scissors and cut about ½ "tab, making sure not to cut the cord. These reductions of approximately ¼ "apart from each other.

Once all the seams are cut, shake your duvet to eliminate in many threads relaxed as possible, wash the blanket and put in the dryer. This will make the tabs even more addicted to the gap.

And now youÂ're done!

Happy Quilting!
